Blessings flowed for our residents courtesy of the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) of Progressive Baptist Church. We were contacted a couple of weeks ago by the President of the WMU, Mrs. Aldine Tolliver asking what they could do for our residents. We told her given our lack of visitation still in place, our residents could really use some form of communication from the outside world to show they haven’t been forgotten… and snacks. Our residents ? some snacks. So Mrs. Tolliver stated she would take that back to the congregation and get back with us in a couple of weeks. We were contacted yesterday to alert us they would like to drop off cards for EACH resident… and snacks. Our CEO Sidney Smith and Chief Officer of Operations Jack Chandler spent about 2 hours this afternoon hand delivering cards and snacks to each resident, alerting them of the kindness of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. We would like to thank Mrs. Aldine Tolliver, Ms. Marie Jolly, Mrs. Norma Washam and Ms. Belinda Goolsby for their generosity of time, gifts and well wishes. We would like to thank Pastor William F. Snorgrass for leading a congregation that shows its love and expresses God’s love through action toward those less fortunate. As Ms. Goolsby stated in her text to me this afternoon after alerting them how much the residents appreciated their thoughtfulness, she said “I am so delighted to hear this. To God be the glory. I hope they enjoy every bite. Glad to be of service.
